Most jewelry stores do not repair anything themselves. They bag your ring, mail it to a repair center, and call you in a week or two.
We have a jeweler at a bench in the back of the shop. The person who takes your ring at the counter is the person who fixes it, which is why most simple repairs are ready the next day, and some while you wait.
Ray has worked platinum for 41 years. Plenty of shops send platinum out because it is harder to work. We do it here.

Repair questions
How long does a ring resize take?
Most ring sizing is done the same day. If yours will take longer, we tell you when you drop it off.
Can you size a platinum ring?
Yes. Platinum has been Ray’s specialty for 41 years. It is harder to work than gold, which is why a lot of shops send it out. We do it at our own bench.
Do you repair jewelry that was bought somewhere else?
Yes. A lot of what comes across our bench was bought somewhere else, often decades ago. Bring it in.
When can I bring a repair in?
Any day we are open, including Sunday from 11 to 2. If you are coming a long way, call ahead and we will make sure the right person is here.
How much does it cost to re-tip prongs?
It depends on how many prongs need work and whether the ring is gold or platinum. We look at it with you and give you the price before we start.
Another jeweler told me my ring can’t be fixed. Can you?
Maybe. Bring it in and we will tell you honestly. A lot of the work we do is the job somebody else turned down.
Does my jewelry leave your shop?
No. Every repair is done at our bench on Lake Woodmoor Drive. Nothing is mailed out to a repair center.
Do you replace watch batteries?
Yes, and we remove links to size watch bands.
More than a repair?
If the piece in your drawer needs more than fixing, we can reset the stones, rebuild it, or design something new from it. Your stones never leave our shop.
